English 2 Required Resources
I am so looking forward to working with you this year at The Connection. I am busy planning out our year and am excited to dive into some exciting lessons with you! I wanted to share with you the books we will be using for class. I have included ISBN numbers and a web link. For novels, it is helpful to have these editions during class discussion, but not necessary. Feel free to use a copy from your home library. For other resources, you are free to purchase items anywhere, but I thought a web link might be helpful to make sure you know which resource to get.
English 2 Supply List:
Here is the list of supplies your student will need for English. Students are expected to bring these supplies each week.
1 inch 3 ring binder with insertable clear cover
Dividers, with pockets, set of 8
Paper (lined filler paper)
Pens (blue or black)
English 2 Materials:
Elements of Style by William Strunk ISBN-13: 978-1643990002
The Strange Case of Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson ISBN-13: 979-8688873832
Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare ISBN-13: 978-0671722852
Optional Materials:
I will supply the myths for students to read for class, but if you would enjoy a deep dive into mythology:
Bulfinch's Greek and Roman Mythology: The Age of Fable by Thomas Bulfinch ISBN-13 : 978-0-486-41107-1
Recommended Resources for high school:
Daily Grams – I highly recommend using Daily Grams/Easy Grammar Ultimate Series along with Easy Grammar Plus. We will not have time to go over these in class, but the Daily Grams constantly review the skills we will be learning in Easy Grammar Plus. Choose the level that is appropriate for your student. If you get the Teacher’s Edition, the answers are in the back for your convenience.
Prose & Poetry Great optional resource to solidify literary devices! ISBN: 0825138027
